Seniors should reach for natural products as they will let them remain healthy and in good mood. Honey is one of the best natural products! Not only is it delicious, but its healing properties have excellent influence on the elderly.

The elderly who do not want to take lots of medicines, as long as it is not essential, should learn about honey’s healing properties. We can say that this natural substance acts globally – it fights bacteria, helps wound healing, improves heart function and invigorates the brain!

Honey’s healing properties

Honey is considered to be a natural antibiotic, which bactericidal inhibin and hydrogen peroxide contribute to. They fight staphylococcus aureus and streptococcus responsible for tooth decay. Thanks to glucose, it stimulates brain cells to work.

Honey also shows other medicinal properties. It mainly accelerates wound healing. It should also be used by persons suffering from digestive tract problems – stomach ulcers and diarrhea. Thanks to its healing properties, honey lowers blood pressure and inhibits atherosclerotic processes.

Honey is a perfect tranquilizer and it helps you fall asleep. It is also indispensable for colds.

How to recognize real honey?

It becomes more and more difficult to buy real honey – and if one does not have a befriended beekeeper, it is even very difficult. First of all, one should check the country of origin. If the label informs that the jar contains a blend of honeys from EU countries and other, then it is better to put it back on the shelf. It is the best to choose products from Polish apiaries.

Honey may also be recognized by its taste, although tasting is quite difficult in a shop. Apart from the sweet feeling, true honey leaves a light burning sensation in the mouth as well as gentle scratching in the throat.
